You can use Surveybot to interact with your website visitors by installing Facebook’s Customer Chat Plugin. The plugin adds a Messenger chat widget to the bottom right corner of your website, where visitors can simply interact with and respond to your surveys:

This is useful for connecting and engaging with leads on your website or conducting Net Promoter Score surveys to gauge customer satisfaction. Because the conversation is on Facebook Messenger, visitors can continue the conversation after leaving your website and you don’t need to capture contact information to follow-up with them.

Follow these steps to survey your website visitors via Facebook Messenger:

  1. In your Surveybot account, go to Surveys and select the survey you want to use on your website. We recommend that you select a survey without a multiple choice question that uses checkboxes, list view, or date/time input, as this question type navigates respondents away from your website into Messenger to respond.

  2. Click “Collect Responses” in the left sidebar, select “Links & Widgets,” and click “Customer Chat Plugin.” Here you will see directions for integrating Facebook Messenger with your website.

  3. First, you need to add the Facebook javascript to your website. If you are already using Facebook plugins on your website, you may already have this script on your website. In this case, you do not need to add it again.

  4. Once you have added the javascript, you need to add the HTML code at the bottom of your website. This code determines which survey will show up in your Facebook Messenger chat widget on all website pages. You can also add additional attributes to this code to customize the chat experience. For example, you can change the color of the widget, or customize the initial message that website visitors will see. Learn more about adding attributes to the code in the Facebook developer center

  5. Next, you must white-list your website’s domain name. Click on the link displayed in Surveybot and scroll to the section “White-listed domains.” Add your website’s domain name here and click “Save.”

  6. You’re all set! You can now survey your website visitors via the Facebook Messenger chat widget.

Note: If you have a WordPress website, you can install the plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/facebook-messenger-customer-chat/
